As part of the Centenary celebration Girlguiding UK have decided to submit a design for a
show garden at next year’s Hampton Court Flower Show.
How you can get involved...
As part of the design we are looking at the options of including a range of fruit,
vegetables and herbs from around the world. Some vegetables commonly used in
international cooking are still not widely grown in the UK and we do realise that our
climate does not allow us to grow all plants. However, we know up and down the country
many parents, carers, family members and friends are growing an exotic array of fruits,
vegetables and herbs in gardens and allotments.
So, we want to know what vegetables, fruits and herbs from South America, Africa,
Caribbean, Asia, Australasia and the Middle East are being grown? What conditions are
you growing them in? Do you use greenhouses/shelter or do they grow happily in the UK?
What varieties are there? How would you use them in cooking?
Please email by 11th December to
flowershow@girlguiding.org.uk
